Back in Deutschland

Finished my requal course last Friday. My check ride went fine despite some maintenance issues with our tanker. Six flights in 10 days is pushing it, even for an old war horse like myself.

Flew back on Saturday and arrived in Germany Sunday morning. The family was very happy to see me (as I was to see them), and my young ones quickly snapped me up to show me their latest projects and achievements. The pandemonium that is Das Ritterhaus is an absolute joy. I enjoy being on trips for about the first 8 hours, then the "quietness" sets in. I don't like it. Give me loud noises, kids yelling, and the muffled snickers of some mischef going on anyday.

A couple of days of peace quickly get boring, don't they? Then you get back home, and quickly wish everything to a little more peaceful.

Wecome home, wherever that actually is. I'm genuinely confused about this. Are you living in Germany or Seattle? I was under the impression that you had moved to Seattle, but apparently I was wrong OR you have another family that lives in Germany. Please clarify.

Wait, it gets even more confusing. I'm currently in Germany and will be for another 3 weeks, THEN I move to Seattle. My wife and kids stay in Germany until March, when they will move and join me in Seattle. I have to deploy shortly after arriving in Seattle (which is why they are staying in Germany for a while). I just returned from Altus, Oklahoma for training...but forget about that now.

So, 3 different locations. My life is a little complicated right now.

Thanks for the play-by-play. Deploy? Where to? I'm guessing 'deploy' isn't as fun as the "ploys' of our youth.

George should no better than to ask you to whence you shall be deployed. That's top secret, eh Steve?

Sorry, I did not no. I didn't mean know harm.

Steve, are you still out there? Don't that have Internet in Germany? Tap, tap, tap...is this thing on?
